Tarsila do Amaral foi um dos grandes nomes do modernismo brasileiro, nos anos 20. Junto com Oswald de Andrade, Anita Malfatti, Mário de Adrade e Menotti Del Picchia, ela fez parte do ‘grupo dos cinco que agitou São Paulo com reuniões, festas, conferências, após a tão famosa Semana de Arte Moderna. Tarsila gostava de usar o azul puríssimo, o rosa violáceo, o amarelo vivo e o verde cantante quando pintava, o que fez com que essas cores se tornassem a marca da sua obra, assim como a temática brasileira, com as paisagens rurais e urbanas do nosso país, além da nossa fauna, flora e folclore. Ela dizia que queria ser a pintora do Brasil. Dentre suas obras mais famosas estão a ‘Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil – 1924′, ‘Antropofagia – 1929′ e ‘Carnaval em Madureira – 1924′, que estarão em exposição no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) -RJ.
Tarsila do Amaral was one of the great names of Brazilian modernism, in 20 years. Along with Oswald de Andrade, Anita Malfatti, Mario de Adrada and Menotti Del Picchia, she was part of the group of five that rocked Sao Paulo for meetings, parties, conferences, after so famous Week of Modern Art. Tarsila liked to use the purest blue, pink purple, yellow and green living singing in his painting, which meant that these colors became the hallmark of his work, as well as the Brazilian theme, with the rural and urban landscapes of our country, in addition to our fauna, flora and folklore. She said she wanted to be the painter of Brazil. Among his most famous works are the ‘Central Railroad of Brazil – 1924‘, ‘anthropophagy – 1929‘ and ‘Carnival in Madurai – 1924, which will be exhibited at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil (CCBB)-RJ
