Arte no Flickr #05 (Brian Kokoska)

Em um mundo imaginário, com elementos eróticos e cores fortes, o canadense Brian Kokoska desenvolve suas pinturas desde 2008, quando se formou pela Emily Carr University of Art and Design, em Vancouver. Agora em NY, o artista abriu seu estúdio para o modelo, fotógrafo e colaborador da VMan, Marcel Castenmiller. Na entrevista, Brian conta que não consegue trabalhar sem estar ansioso e pensando em milhares de coisas ao mesmo tempo, esta interessado em artistas da alemãos como Albert Oehlen. Sobre seu processo criativo, ele conta que muitas vezes utiliza imagens de meninos  e coisas que ele acha pela internet, pra usar como ponto de partida das obras, que ele executa ouvindo bandas como Salem e a cantora Nina Simone.

In an imaginary world, with erotic elements and bold colors, Canadian Brian Kokoska develops his paintings since 2008 when he graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. Now in NY, the artist opened his studio to the model, photographer and collaborator of VMAN, Marcel Castenmiller. In the interview, Brian says that he can not work without being anxious and thinking about a thousand things at the same time, artists are interested in the Germans like Albert Oehlen. About his creative process, he says he often uses images of boys and things he finds on the Internet, for use as a starting point of the work, he runs up listening to bands like Salem and singer Nina Simone.
